E mail response from Rona Nicholl CQC to our solicitor Derek Jones at Rickerbys solicitors of Cheltenham sent Dec 2010 states that :-

The Director of Operations at the Comission apologised during the File on Four documentary for the data errors which occurred. We quote her directly "I know that there were some data errors in terms of the number of homes CQC said it had closed in the last twelve months. I apologise for that data error" This apology was given during a national radio broadcast.

CQC considers that it has apologised publicly for the error and is sorry to have caused your clients any inconvenience.
